Welcome to the radical tearoom!

The concept of the radical tearoom pays tribute to the story of the suffragettes - bold women who fought for the fundamental right to vote. They changed things dramatically and forever, and yet many of their political discussions, ideas, and actions were laid down in the sedate surroundings of Edwardian tearooms. Never underestimate the power of conversation over a cup of tea! The radical tearoom builds on this idea of a safe place to share ideas and consider how we might might do things differently - and better. 

The suffragettes had a specific focus but the radical tearoom will see many topics of conversation with the aim of taking better care of our amazing planet and its essential biodiversity. The radical tearoom is interested in all the earth's inhabitants and the interconnections across our lives on this ONE shared home. So, for example, while we consider the big global issues like climate change, we will also think about how we look out for each other in our local communities, sustain local habitats, strive for fairness, and be more considerate about what we eat - because there are connections to be found in them all. 

So, let's think boldly and creatively, share our ideas thoughtfully and positively, and act with kindness.
